Up for bid is a 3 gallon New StyleWhite Cedar Cylinder Butter Churn. This style of churn was one of the earlier churns and was advertised as early as 1844. At that time it was referred to as Kendall's Churn or Kendall's Patented Churn.Around that time they were advertised in five sizes, starting at 3 gallons and ranging in price from $2.00 to 4.50. Sears, Roebuck and Company also sold this style butter churn for many years. In 1896 this style of churn in the 3 gallon size cost $1.50 in the Sears, Roebuck and Company catalog. They no longer appeared in the catalog in 1946-47. I purchased this particular item from an individual in Key West, Florida at an Estate Sale, unsure as to it's age, it is in very good condition but does show normal wear as an item of it's age would. Great patino, handle turns freely. Please look over pictures provided and ask questions as needed. Wording on front of churn is missing in areas but can be made out to read "New Style White Cedar Cylinder Churn" with No. 0 at the bottom. On the back of the churn, it reads No. 0 Improved. Dimensions of churn: approx. 14 inches tall x 13 inches wide.................. Happy bidding!!!!....Will ship within the United States Only!!!
